The Viniansky Castle ruin is located by the village of Vinné.

The Gothic castle was probably built in the second half of the 13th century as a guard castle to protect the trade route leading to Poland. Already in 1312, the castle was attacked and damaged by Omodej noble family.

In 1466, during the fighting of the Hungarian king Matthias and the Polish ruler Casimir IV., the castle was badly damaged. The castle was repaired and fortified at the beginning of the 16th century. Even in the same century, in 1594, the imperial army damaged it again in the conquest. A little later, the owners of the castle, Sztáray family, repaired the building, even though they left it in the middle of the 17th century. They moved to the village where they built the mansion. At the beginning of the 18th century, when the anti-Habsburg uprising was supressed, the emperor had the castle demolished. Since then, the castle is only a ruin.

In the ruins of the castle, there was an intact wine grape discovered, whose age is estimated at about 200 years and can be a rare variety of Neuburg, which is very unique in our country. According to the legend, only one plant of this variety in the whole of Hungary was once preserved in this castle.

You can get to the ruins of the Viniansky Castle from the village of Vinné by a blue tourist trail. From the castle hill, there is a view of the Eastern Slovak lowland, you can also see the town of Michalovce and Zemplínska Šírava.
