The Holý Hill (The Bare Hill) is a less distinctive peak of the Western Tatras. Many tourists may not heard about as it is less known hills among others in this location, yet it has something to offer. After all, the popular hiking trail to the sought-after Baranec Hill passes through this Holý Hill too.

The hill is characterized by its pyramid shape. It is open all year round and the seasonal winter touristic closure applies here not. The ascent to Holý Hill is a less demanding hike with 782 m elevation. The hike can be easily managed by physically less skilled tourists or children.

The top parts of Holý Hill are an excellent viewing point in the direction of Liptov and the Low Tatras. They also offer beautiful views of the surrounding valleys and hills of the Western Tatras.

The starting point for hikes to Holý Hill can be the Žiar Valley (approx. 3 km away) or Jakubovany (approx. 6 km away). The marked hiking trail will lead you to the “Holy Hill” signpost where a yellow and blue hiking trails meet. The peak itself is not marked, it is located above the signpost on the ridge leading to Baranec Hill.
